When the cuckoo calls – it’s Spring at Kirchwies

A familiar sound, year after year

As spring arrives, so does he. Quietly at first, almost unnoticed, until suddenly he’s there: the cuckoo. Year after year, he marks the beginning of the warmer days and is now as much a part of Kirchwies as the morning sun over the mountains.

Waking up with nature

What could be more beautiful than waking up to birdsong rather than an alarm? Especially in our chalets right by the forest – like the Reinhold Messner Chalet and the Tree Chalet – the forest itself becomes Your wake-up call.

With the window left slightly ajar, fresh air all around and somewhere, the cuckoo calls once more.

Observe, instead of just listening

Sometimes You can even spot him. Or the woodpecker, finding its place in the forest.

And while You sit in the warm whirlpool or gaze out at nature from the private sauna with its panoramic window, a simple moment becomes something truly special: observing, listening, simply being there.

A home for our feathered guests too

Our wooden chalets in the Dolomites create a special connection to nature – one that our guests feel, and the birds do too. Each year, small nests appear on the roof beams, often built by blue tits.

This closeness is especially noticeable in the forest-edge chalets – as if You were part of nature itself.

Nature that lingers

All around our resort, new spaces for plants and wildlife are growing and taking shape. Over the past few years, we have planted many trees – but that’s a story of its own.

One we will be sharing soon.
